This week; out of the blue, they declared Charlie Foxtrot dead.
The main reason, they found it to expensive... for the number who are participating.

Conroy, Wargamer en mr. F are continuing it in the new shape, and i believe it will be different but we'll have to see.

Loads of the CF players signed up allready at http://arma-wargames.com

* The server will be hosted elsewhere
* TS will be hosted elsewhere
* And the forums are also, elsewhere.

Everything is shaping up now, and things will develop shortly.

So now CF is dead, but the community proceeded together.

I know some of u guy's had some problems in the past with the old CF 'overhead'
But it might be fun (again)

good. to hear you guys still might fancy such a tournament.

i have seen cornish rebel allready spammed the forums

mojo should'nt be arround anymore. he should be able to sign in to the wargames. but he has no more rights than any other players

DaRat (if you mean him) is still arround. crashing BH's most of the time

they think to have a server up and running on sunday for stresstesting. But i think they nicked the server config files allready so should be a sort of hardwaretest.

lots of suggestions are beiing made, regarding weapons, vehicle's, uniforms what army vs. army.
the system i don't know yet the 2'nd last one's were fun. (army had to obtain 3 obj, after capping, zone shifted randomly on the map. so no pre-preparations could be done.) so it was more up to the army itself if they got the stuff sorted. extraction and movement of the army.

I still have the same handicap I did when I played in CF, i.e. not being able to join before 21:00 CET. Still, if the tournament starts up again, I'll join with the other FUSION members joining.

Ive posted something about fusion being interested in joining, its now down to the admins on how they see us and integrate fusion into one army (as squad) as i have asked for.... now it seems wargamer is one of the admins as he has been on here before and i think played with in the past on occasions it might be possible.



It may help if some of u guys add your positive voice to their forums (ie join and say hi) and take a look at the times for the trials of the new maps etc so we can get a concensus here as well ......

Update.



I spoke to Andy aka Wargamer on ts .



It seems we maybe able to play as a squad on one side with donations towards the cost ( as usually was the case)


They have rented a modern server i7 ssd linux etc etc in a server farm aprox 100 euro's a month in germany.

None of the old charlie foxtrot admins are involved for the obvious reasons as we all know who have played in the past so it thumbs up there.

They are still allowing random players to join for free... but that wont be any of us except, cornish maybe :-P , as a AMD user he needs to upgrade often

The first test of the map/server will be on sunday night 18.00 gmt The ts deatils plus the small mod to download will be available shortly on their forums .

He asked if all fusion members interested could join the forums as so they can get an idea of numbers.

They have atleast 60 registed players already but as usual numbers will vary on game nights due to players personal schedules not always matching up.

We as a clan can join also their ts channel tuesdays & thursday nights before fusion to stress test servers and get to know other players online , this would work well for those who can as FUSION does not start to play till after 9 gmt+1

It looks like it wont be Russian v US units so it could be finmod style of sides so a change of units and so on for us would make it fun.


I dont think i have missed anything for now but if you have any questions post them below and we can spaek to andy about them , im sure he'd like to have contributions from anybody who want to help in the maps section etc

Looks like any of fusion who join will goe on opfor which im not sure if it means swedish of finnish units ....

Managed to get their server running this morning. One of BIS' many subtleties causing the issue (upper case letters in a folder name, causing the linux server to not find the PBOs needed)...

They'll still have some tweaking to do, but at least the basis is there.

I dont see a pay to pick page up yet...So youll either have to join their TS right now to have a word with Conroy or wargamer about going randomly onto Opfor,lol

Ok go for opfor OR KLF as that how this Army shall be called. Ive signed up for infantry, which is i think most of us will go...



It will start in around 3 weeks with map testing and sunday scrims , although the cap system will most likely be changed from that of cf-arma at some point , even if we will be using the old one to strees test the server for now.


Looks like that may also need ppl who are in the map development along with Jones, The f , somthing Andy might be interested in doing .


The donations system isnt up yet but will be before we start the camp., so join away
